Is this ATS checker really free?

Yes. There is no account, no card and no trial. Guests get 2 checks a day and a free account gets 6; Pro removes the cap. Nothing about the result is held back or blurred.

Do you store my resume?

No. Your PDF is read inside your own browser and never uploaded — only the extracted text is sent, and only when you press Check. We do not save it, and there is no file storage on our side to leak.

What is an ATS score?

Applicant tracking systems parse your resume and match it against the job description before a person reads it. The score here estimates how well your resume matches a specific posting, based on keyword overlap, relevant experience and skills alignment. It is a guide, not an official number — no ATS publishes its scoring.

Why does my PDF produce no text?

It is a scan, or an export built from images rather than text. Open it and try selecting a line — if nothing highlights, there is no text in the file. We can recover it with OCR in your browser so you still get a score, but be careful what you conclude from that: applicant tracking systems do not run OCR. They would extract nothing and score the application at zero. Re-export as a text-based PDF before applying anywhere.

What score should I aim for?

Above 80 is strong for a specific posting, 60 to 80 usually means a few missing keywords, and under 60 suggests the resume was not written for this role. Tailor per application rather than chasing one perfect version.
